A Jo Tankers chemical carrier has run aground while transiting Canada’s St. Lawrence Seaway on Monday.
The 6,285-dwt Jo Spirit (built 1998), which was carrying a cargo of rum, has been blocking the canal since the incident.
A spokesperson for the The St.Lawrence Seaway Management Corp told local media that the vessel went off course around 03:30am local time and hit the wall of the canal.
