A US Jones Act ro-ro was reported adrift off the west coast of Canada Tuesday.
The Canadian Coast Guard reported the 7,200-lane North Star (built 2003) has lost propulsion off the coast of Haida Gwaii, British Columbia.
The coast guard sent a mid-sized patrol vessel and a tug to escort the North Star back to port. But the ro-ro subsequently restarted its engine early Wednesday morning and resumed transit.
