U-Ming has reportedly banned ship’s crews from fishing from its vessels following a fatality aboard a ship off Australia in 2014.

The incident involved the 206,000-dwt Cape Splendor (built 2014) while it was anchored 25km off the iron ore port of Port Hedland.

According to the report from the Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) the ship’s bosun had descended to the lower platform of the ship’s accommodation ladder during his lunch break.
