Greek authorities inspected the listing passengership Panagia Tinou shortly before the influx of thousands tons of water, the shipping ministry says.

According to an announcement issued today, the manager of the ship inspection department checked the 5,122-gt Panagia Tinou (built 1972) on Monday and noticed no change compared to the vessel’s condition since last June.

The ministry added that inspectors also visited the vessel at the port of Piraeus yesterday morning and the water influx occurred in less than half an hour later.
