Fleet Management has suffered a major blow in the Cosco Busan spill case as a US federal judge knocked back a no-contest plea from the shipmanager’s lawyers.
There was also bad news for the ship pilot in charge of the 5,447-teu ship when it struck San Francisco Bay Bridge in November last year spilling 200 tonnes of fuel oil as a request to have the trial moved to another town was refused.
