UK shipyard Cammell Laird has pleaded guilty in court to safety breaches after a worker died in 2010.
The Wirral company “fell well below” expected standards, according to the UK Health and Safety Executive (HSE).
Welder Robert Dunroe, 62, was killed when the forklift he was driving was crushed against a lifting beam used on a crane.
He suffered multiple injuries and died four days later in hospital.
