A Champion Tankers-owned ship which grounded off Alaska is still anchored and waiting for an inspection to take place.

The US Coast Guard (USCG) reported that the 46,938-dwt chemical tanker Champion Ebony (built 2004) ran aground near Nunivak Island on Friday.

It was later refloated under its own power to deeper water and there were no signs of pollution, USCG added.

Champion Tankers chairman Karl Kvalheim tells TradeWinds the vessel is still at anchorage and awaits the inspectors tomorrow.
