A cruiseship has developed a list and grounded at an Indian shipyard due to monsoon rains.

The 35,000-gt Qing (built 1982) started to tilt at Western India Shipyard (WIS) in Mormugao after suffering water ingress, the Indian Express reported.

The coast guard has begun efforts to prevent it capsizing.

“The ship Qing owned by Sahara India company was berthed at Western India Shipyard since last two years as it was awaiting repairs and conversion into a floating hotel,” ship agent Sunil Prabhu told reporters.
