Salvors could attempt to shift the grounded Benita in the next few days, weather permitting.
Five Oceans Salvage says the 44,000-dwt Benita (built 1998) is in a stable condition with no significant changes, while bad weather has hampered the salvage operation over the last few days.
The Unit Maritime-owned vessel ran aground off Mauritius on 17 June after a crew member was said to have suffered “a serious medical episode” that led to an attack on a fellow seafarer.
