A nuclear-powered UK submarine has been damaged in a collision with an unnamed merchant vessel.
An investigation has been launched into the “glancing” contact while the 7,400-gt HMS Ambush was underwater on Wednesday.
HMS Ambush was forced to dock in Gibraltar after suffering some external damage, The Guardian daily cited the UK navy as saying.
No injuries were reported. The merchant ship did not suffer damage.
