Five Oceans Salvage has managed to refloat the grounded 44,000-dwt bulk carrier Benita (built 1998).
Insurers, London Club, said in a statement released on Sunday that the ship was being towed to a position some 20 miles off the coast, where a skeleton crew will remain on board in order to carefully assess its seaworthiness and general condition.
“A decision on the most appropriate course of action will largely depend on an assessment of the vessel’s seaworthiness and general state,” the Club said.
