Australia’s competition authority has approved Toll Holdings’ sale of its Tasmanian ro-ro operation Partick Shipping.



A Tasmanian consortium is buying the two-ship Bass Strait business, acquired by logistics giant Toll in its 2006 takeover of Patrick Corp.



The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) said it would not object to the sale to Chas Kelly Transport Group.



"The ACCC has closely scrutinised the proposed sale in terms of its impact on competition in the Bass Strait shipping and Tasmanian freight forwarding markets," ACCC chairman Graham Samuel said.
