The long-delayed Russian nuclear-powered ice-breaker 50 Let Pobedy is on target for delivery by the end of 2005.
The general director of St Petersbrug’s Baltic Shipyard, Oleg Shulyakovsky, said the vessel is now 72% complete.
The budget for its construction this year is RUR 913m ($31.5m) and in 2005 RUR 767m. This is being funded by the government.
Work on the vessel, then called Ural, began at the yard in 1989.
