Scorpio finds period charter for ultramax

Scorpio Bulkers has chartered out a modern ultramax bulk carrier to a Greek shipping newcomer.

Piraeus-based Ellery Shiptrade has fixed the 63,500-dwt SBI Thalia (built 2015) on a period charter of between five to eight months, TradeWinds understands.

Ellery is paying $7,350 for the vessel, which is generally in line with ultramax rates today.

The SBI Thalia will be delivered to Ellery soon and will trade worldwide.
