US-listed Diana Shipping is set for a doubling of the charter rate for one of its capesize bulkers.
SwissMarine has extended the charter of the 180,000-dwt Aliki (built 2005) for another 13 to 15 months at $10,100 per day with delivery in Japan.
In January last year, SwissMarine fixed the ship for a year at just $5,300 per day.
A much newer capesize, the 179,000-dwt Anangel Merchant (built 2010), has been fixed by an undisclosed charterer for 11 to 14 months at $12,500 per day, also with delivery in Japan.
