Sammok Shipping of South Korea appears to be benefiting from rising bulker values as it starts disposing of ships.
The company is believed to have fetched $19.8m for the New Times-built, 63,000-dwt bulker Ultra Omega (built 2015) from an undisclosed Greek buyer. In 2016, the ship was reported sold for $18m but no deal materialised.
The Ultra Omega and sistership Ultra Alpha (built 2015) reportedly cost $24m to $25m each when ordered in China in 2013.
