Denials by Polaris that Vale has turned its back on converted VLOCs has not stopped speculation about how such a move may impact the charter market.
The sinking of 266,000-dwt Stellar Daisy (built 1993) has shone a spotlight on the 17 VLOC conversions in the Polaris stable, with rumours rife last week that Vale had stopped using the ships.
