Diana Shipping, known for taking a more bearish outlook for its peers, is finally seeing the signs of a sustainable recovery in the bulker market.

The New York-listed shipowner's president, Anastasios Margaronis, told analysts today that the Greek company believes the dry-bulk sector may have reached a balance in supply and demand.

That means that, barring a surprise negative blow to the market, any favourable developments in the supply-and-demand scenario should be reflected in market rates.
