Canada's Transportation Safety Board has deployed a team of investigators after a fatal incident on a Norden bulker.

The Danish shipowner's 36,500-dwt Nord Quebec (built 2013) was involved in what the TSB described as a "berthing occurrence" at the port of Trois-Rivieres in Quebec.

"The TSB will gather information and assess the occurrence," the agency said.

Norden vice president Jens Christensen, who heads the bulker and tanker owner's technical department, told TradeWinds that the 38-year-old Filipino crewman was hit by a forward spring line during mooring procedures and subsequently died.
