Russia’s 16.5-million-tonnes-per-annum (mtpa) Yamal LNG project plans to export a first cargo on one of its dedicated Arc7 ice-class LNG carriers in the next four months.

It is likely to ship east from Sabetta on the Yamal Peninsula to Asia via the Northern Sea Route (NSR).

It is set to be a historic voyage marking the start of long-term LNG trades through Arctic waters.
