A sudden drop in dry bulk freight rates over the past few weeks has scared shipping players but has not shaken their confidence that the market is heading towards sustainable recovery. 

That was the prevailing mood at the TradeWinds Shipowners Forum this week at the Onassis Cultural Centre in Athens.

“The confidence level has evaporated,” said Lou Kollakis, chairman of Chartworld Shipping.
