Centrofin has once again demonstrated its skills in asset play.

Sources say the Greek owner has sold the Oshima Shipbuilding-constructed, 55,000-dwt bulker Coral Island (built 2006) to an undisclosed buyer for $11.75m.

The price is slightly higher than expected and almost twice what the outfit paid when it bought the ship — acquired as Falcon Trader I — for just $6.3m from Japan’s Nisshin Shipping in January last year.
