Thoresen Shipping has confirmed that it has acquired a modern supramax bulker from Norway’s Songa Bulk.
The Thai-backed shipowner said it had acquired the 58,700-dwt Songa Marlin (built 2009) for $13.8m, according to a regulatory filing.
The ship, which has been renamed Thor Courage, lifts the size of its fleet to 22 vessels with a total deadweight of 1.18mdwt.
TradeWinds first reported that Thoresen was being linked with the vessel in late September 2017.
