Norwegian bulker owner Seven Seas Carriers has changed its chartering strategy and now primarily has its fleet of supramaxes either in the spot market or on short period charters.

The Bergen-based company had previously focused on fixing out its tonnage long term, but suffered losses on the collapse of Sanko Steamship and on charters to Grand China Logistics.

Seven Seas managing director Christian Sundt confirms the change in strategy for its six supramaxes built between 2008 and 2010.
