Anthony Comninos-led Target Marine has emerged as the buyer of a 10-year-old supramax, which market sources initially believed to have gone to Indonesian buyers.

A Target Marine official confirms his company has purchased the 55,600-dwt Leo Advance (built 2007).

However, he declines to discuss the price.

The ship was reported sold last month to state-controlled Djakarta Lloyd for $12.6m. However, well-placed Singapore shipbroking sources were quick to point out the deal did not go through and that shipowner Tokei Kaiun of Japan placed the Mitsui Tamano-built vessel back on the market.
