Spanish biofuels and renewables group Greenalia has set up a new shipping division as it targets vessel acquisitions.

The Greenalia Logistics unit has established Greenalia Shipping to transport all types of cargo, it said.

The idea is to operate, buy and sell ships, it added.

Reliance on chartered ships

Greenalia Logistics has previously relied on chartered in tonnage.

It currently has the 4,200-dwt general cargoship Daroja (built 1997) on long-term charter from Germany.

The vessel is owned by Marjesco Schiffs and managed by H&H Bereederungs.
