The Teigen family of Norway is boosting its fleet with a purchase of two supramax bulkers from compatriot owner Seven Seas Carriers.

The family's Lighthouse Shipholding has purchased the 50,000-dwt Saturnus and Serpentine (both built 2008), chief executive Frode Bjorklund confirmed. The ships have been renamed Orient Light and Bering Light.

He said the company, which also operates chartered vessels, had previously used box-shaped supramaxes for key trades it focuses on.
