Seatankers ups orders at Chinese yards

Norwegian shipping tycoon John Fredriksen is to add more bulkers to his growing fleet.

Fredriksen’s private Seatankers Group has signed up for two kamsarmax and two newcastlemax bulkers at separate Chinese shipyards.

Shipbuilding sources said Seatankers had penned the order for the 82,000-dwt kamsarmaxes at China Shipbuilding Industry Corp’s (CSIC)-controlled Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Co (DSIC), while the 208,000-dwt newcastlemax newbuildings have been ordered at CSIC's Bohai Shipbuilding Heavy Industry.
