Greek bulker and tanker owner Neda Maritime has acheived a better-than-expected price for a Chinese-built capesize bulker.

Brokers said the firm had sold the 177,000-dwt Sonia (built 2009) to an undisclosed buyer for $26m.

The price is higher than attained by a larger, slightly newer vessel sold last week.

The 180,000-dwt Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Co-constructed Shourong Harmony (built 2010) was offloaded for $25m.
