New York-listed ADM says it intends to convert the facility so it can handle bulk grains and agricultural inputs.

It also intends to double storage capacity to three million metric tones of a year and make upgrades to accommodate panamax bulkers.

“This port will enhance ADM’s global reach, better connecting the Brazilian harvest to markets including Europe, the Middle East, and even Asia through the Panama Canal,” Valmor Schaffer, president of ADM South America, told investors in a statement Tuesday.

The
