The 28,300-dwt Hope Star (built 1995) was 210km offshore and heading forGladstone when the offences took place on 29 June, a court heard.
The single-ship company Hope Star Shipping was told to pay AUD 5,000 ($5,200) and theChinese captain AUD 300, the Observer newspaper reported.
