Rating levels are down across the board with the panamax market under the greatest pressure.

Capesizes:

Cargill fixed Ocean Longevity’s 180,000-dwt Ocean Shine (built 2005) to carry a 160,000 ore cargo from Australia to China for $7.05 a tonne.

Laiwu got a yet to be nominated STX Pan Ocean vessel to carry a similarly sized ore cargo on the same route for an identical price.

Posco booked a STX Pan Ocean vessel to carry a 125,000 tonne coal cargo from the US Atlantic coast to South Korea for $29.37 a tonne.

Pacific Bulk is paying $11.25 to get a Classic Maritime vessel carry 130,000 tonnes of Australian coal to China.

An undisclosed vessel has been booked for a 130,000 tonne coal delivery on the same route for $10.50 a tonne.

K Line hired Mitsui OSK’s 180,000-dwt Pleiades Dream (built 2009) for a Europe – Brazil return voyage for $10,300 a day.

Oldendorff got Enterprises 172,000-dwt Eternus (built 2010) for a transatlantic return voyage out of Europe for $10,000 a day.

Panamaxes:

Castleton Commodities took the 75,000-dwt Captain Diamantis (built 2000) for an Ireland – Gulf of Mexico – Europe run at $7,500 a day.

Norden is paying $5,900 a day plus a ballast bonus of $290,000 tp get tje 75,000-dwt Petani (built 2008) undertake a North Pacific or Australia voyage to the Far East.

Supramaxes:

K Line fixed Empros’ 53,000-dwt Alitis (built 2002) for three to five months trading at $8,250 a day.

Dreyfus got the 57,000-dwt Densa Dolphin (built 2010) for an Indonesia – China run at $8,700 a day.

Cargill is paying $8,000 a day plus a ballast bonus of $80,000 for the 56,000-dwt Aquila (built 2012) undertaking an Indonesia – India voyage.

Undisclosed charterers booked the 53,000-dwt Thor Brave (built 2012) for a North Pacific – South East Asia voyage for $7,350 a day plus a ballast bonus of $300,000.

Hyundai Glovis took the 60,000-dwt Oriental Angel (built 2012) for an Indonesia – China run for $7,000 a day plus a ballast bonus of $80,000

Lauritzen fixed the 52,000-dwt Navios Achilles (built 2001) for an Indonesia – China voyage for $7,000 a day plus a ballast bonus of $60,000.

Jaldhi hired the 58,000-dwt Spar Vega (built 2010) for an India – China iron ore run for $7,000 a day.

PGSC is paying $4,500 a day for the 58,000-dwt Tiger Tian making a China – Indonesia return voyage
