Sasebo inks bulk trio

Japan's Sasebo Heavy Industries has revealed three new bulker orders.

The yard said in its financial results for the first nine months that one 77,000-dwt ship and two 84,000-dwt units were added during the last three months of 2012.

The 84,000-dwt bulkers are a new design from the yard. TradeWinds reported last year that Quintana of Greece was close to ordering two of these ships.

The smaller ship size will likely cost around $30m.

Sasebo has now inked seven bulkers in its financial year so far, mostly to Greek owners.
