UK energy firmDrax Power has signed a 15-year contract with ABP to handle wood pelletshipments at Immingham, Hull and Goole.
Theproject will create about 100 jobs during the construction phase and over 100permanent positions once the facilities become fully operational.
TheDrax Power Station at Selby is the UK’s largest single producer of electricity,meeting about 7% of the UK’s needs.
Draxplans to convert three of its existing coal-fired generating units to burnsustainable biomass which will result in its output being predominantly fromrenewable resources.
