The bulker player struck a framework agreement with ChinaShipping (HK) Holdings to pay up to $70m (HKD 543m) to lease the bulkers for sixmonths.
The two companies are both part of China Shipping, which owns46.4% of China Shipping Development and 100% of China Shipping (HK) Holdings.
The leases “may or may not be extended” and more of ChinaShipping’s owned vessels may be added to the mix in the future, said ChinaShipping Development.
