Vietnamese media reported the 43,000-dwt VinalinesSky (built 1997) was held last month as the Korean company sought to forcepayment of VND 47.93 bn ($2.28m).
Vietnam’s international arbitration centre had orderedVinalines to pay the bill for steel poles it imported to build an internationalport in central Vietnam.
But this ruling has been suspended by Hanoipeople’s court, to which Vinalines complained in January, saying that it didnot accept the quality and price of the steel.
