Commodore Research & Consultancy managing director JeffreyLandsberg tells TradeWinds that there were 30 charters for iron ore voyages toChina last week, the highest level since the week ending 6 December. Most ofthe spot fixtures involved capesize vessels.
“Chinese steel production is at a record high, and Chineseiron ore demand is at a record high,” he said.
There were 25 spot charters for iron ore cargoes to China in the prior week.
