China’s crude steel production inch up 2.6% last month as the world’s largest producer saw output top 70mt.
Elsewhere in Asia, South Korea’s crude steel production was up 11.4% to 6.2mt, while Japan’s output was largely unchanged at 9.6mt.
In the European Union, Germany produced 3.9mt of crude steel last month, an increase of 7.3% compared to May 2013.
France and Italy’s crude steel production was down 4% and 0.8%
