The 64,000-dwt ships have been ordered by a "famous" but unnamed European owner.
The contract is for three firm vessels, plus three options.
Delivery of the first ship is in October 2015.
They will be SDARI-designed Green Dolphin-type bulkers, with low energy consumption, the yard said.
