Nasdaq-listed Star says the 54.104 million shares deal to take the Oceanbulk fleet closed on Friday only hours after shareholders supported the transaction.

Oaktree Capital will control 61.3% of the upsized Star Bulk, with chairman turned chief executive Petros Pappas 12.6%.

Monarch and Gowda Harsha will be the other substantial shareholders with 7.4% and 2.2% respectively, according to a recent report by Fearnley Securities.
