An official at the mining ministry told Reuters that shipments of iron, lead and zinc concentrates had resumed after Sebuku Iron Lateritic Ores (SILO) and Lambung Mineral Sentosa agreed to pay a 20% export tax.

SILO has shipped 100,000 tonnes already and Lumbung 8,000 tonnes.

Exports of unprocessed ore were banned in January. The lost cargoes were worth $500m per month.

SILO expects to move 8m tonnes of ore a year, with Lumbung adding just 29,000 tonnes.
