Indonesia’s top copper miner hopes to resume full operations immediately and exports are expected to start in August.

Government figures suggest Freeport will ship around 756,000t of copper concentrate in the second half of this year.

Freeport is the first miner to be offered a tax concession by the Indonesian government to end the six-month dispute over copper exports.

The new tax incentives will cut the levy on mineral concentrate exports to less than 10% for miners that guarantee to build a smelter.
