George Economou-led Classic has fixed the 182,000-dwt Aquadiva (built 2010) on a one-year deal.
According to the Baltic Exchange, the fixture came at $19,000 daily compared with the $8,500 daily available in the spot market right now.
Aquadiva is one of six capesizes in the fleet of Peter Livanos’s Carras Hellas. TradeWinds reported last year that the bulker is one of the most expensive capesizes ever built, having been ordered at $110m in 2007.
