The decision will prevent a second strike at the world’s largest bulk export terminal, which faces industrial action by tug engineering staff.
The deal includes a month’s extra leave and a 2% wage increase the second, third and fourth years of the four year agreement, according to Teekay Shipping (Australia) Pty.
“The deal received unanimous support,” said the Maritime Union of Australia (MUA), which represented the deckhands.
