The delivery of the first vessel is due at the end of July 2016 and the second will follow three months later.
A price for the two ships was not revealed, but Meriaura is expected to spend up to EUR 30m ($35.3m) for new tonnage during the next two years.
Jussi Malkia, president for Meriaura, told TradeWinds the main idea is to replace old tonnage with energy efficient vessels.
