Output rose 16% to 113mt versus the 97.5mt seen a year earlier, the Melbourne-based company said Wednesday.
The company said volumes in the fourth quarter were up 16% to 56.3mt, but down 1% on the preceding quarter.
BHP Billiton said that it expects to produce roughly 225mt in its 2015 fiscal year, similar to earlier projections.
