But the Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA) said the 5,700-dwt Deltadiep (built 2012) was only allowed to depart after payment of a GYD 12m ($60,000) fine, despite the operator saying crew had no knowledge of the cocaine.
The GRA said the vessel was held after 185 packages of cocaine – or 192kg - were found in a 40ft flat-rack container on 6 January.
