The 9,000-dwt vessel Aotearoa Chief has been ordered at China's Jinling Shipyard and is due for delivery in late 2016. No financial terms were disclosed.
CNCo subsidiary Swire Bulk Logistics will operate the ship under charter to New Zealand’s Golden Bay Cement (GBC).
The vessel operate under the New Zealand flag and ply the Kiwi coast between the loading port of Portland and GBC’s distribution centres in Auckland, Tauranga, Napier, Wellington, New Plymouth and Picton.
