The US-listed owner said Glencore Grain has agreed to keep the 75,000-dwt Oceanis (built 2001) for another 11 to 14 months.
The panamax will earn $4,500 per day for the first 50 days and then $7,200 per day for the rest.
The new deal started on Sunday.
The charter was last renewed for seven to 10 months in 2014 at $9,000 daily.
This was itself down slightly from the $9,250 per day the vessel had been collecting from Ultrabulk in the previous couple of years.
