The 28,451-dwt multi-purpose vessel Da Dan Xia (built 2009) was arrested at the port of Cartagena in early March, with military equipment onboard.
Authorities discovered 100 tonnes of gunpowder, 99 projectile bases and 3,000 cannon shells, which were not mentioned in the documentation of the ship.
Beijing’s foreign ministry said after the arrest that Da Dan Xia was operating within international laws.
